Yorkshire Water.
Evidence capture
As the lead UX Engineer, I designed a job tracking application for subcontractors at Yorkshire Water. This mobile-first app improved upon many frustrations that the existing third party solution had, it enabled real-time photo and data capture that could be monitored to assess the status of issues in the water network.
At some point I'll get around to fleshing this page out with designs, but for now you'll have to settle for a brief overview.

The project
Working with a new set of brand guidelines, I was the first designer to take forward the new look and feel Yorkshire Water had adopted in 2019/20. With a guidelines booklet to follow I set to work in Adobe XD, which I found to be the best tool for the job until mid-2020 when I transitioned to Figma. I ran an extended design sprint over the course of a couple to few weeks (with onboarding merged in) and helped set the consultancy team up for success, during this time we were able to learn about the client and user needs and organisation as a whole.
What followed was a mobile-first field-work tracking app, featuring Photo and Data Capture capabilities with a secure customer-facing site and integration into a new backend system for monitoring and troubleshooting. The releases with both internal and external interfaces, ensured alignment with user and business needs. Our engagement set us up successfully for 3 more years of work with Yorkshire Water as a happy client.
